MAUD NC Plaza
MAUD NC Plaza
Building concept:
The design proposes a typical mixed-use, 45-story tower with podium development in Malaysia. The challenge is to create both a comfortable space at human-scale on the ground floor retail area and a building tower for the city-scale. The design is directly translated onto the building façade by different density of the grid and external column sizes. The gridded facade becomes a self-organized unit divider with 8 different balcony, louvre and window component systems to host different sizes of flats and rooms. In the high-rise area, the grid widens and can be read from afar at the city/urban scale. The low-rise to retail area grid is much denser, where the grid becomes door frames and components of smaller scales.
