環保綠能是全世界關心的重要議題，台電為了打造國際級的生態電廠，首度為高雄的興達電廠開放國際競圖，藉此傳達台電公司肩負社會責任、與國際接軌的企圖心，並提出「與地方結合」、再設計的概念，展現台電重視地方、與國際接軌的決心。
MAUD提出Electri-City的概念，顧名思義，以「城市」作為設定，循著當地的歷史脈絡，提出一個創新、整合性的都市規劃，尤其鄰近特殊的漁業環境，令我們在設計上更為著重生物、生態與發電廠三方連結，如何重整修復在地的原生自然環境，又能讓興達電廠成為親近、凝聚大眾的新場域，成為工作、生活、休閒、自然合一的Electri-City，為一大重點。
Protecting our green planet is a collective issue and should be the focus of every master plan and project. For Taiwan's leading power supplier, Taiwan Power Company, this mission has been championed in an international competition to create the world's first ecological electric power plant at the Hsinta site in Kaohsiung.
MAUD Architecture's submission to the competition earned an honorable mention for their masterpiece design, which introduces the concept of 'Electri-City'. The master plan comprises sustainable products sourced from South Taiwan, set against the backdrop of green fields and the marina of North Kaohsiung.
The project aims to revitalize the local area while preserving the historical social fabric of the region and seamlessly integrating into the environment of the neighboring fishing industry.
