台灣水泥長期關注生態平衡與循環議題，並積極透過台泥花蓮和平廠與社會大眾展開溫暖對話。MAUD思瑞建築以「和平良圓」為名，參與「台泥和平開放生態循環工廠」概念設計競賽，闖進最後三強，進入最終決選階段。
此「良圓 (Circle)」除了以圓代表著良性循環；也是「良緣 (Unity)」，以此園區與地方居民、觀光人潮廣結良緣；更是「良源 (Spirit)」，隱含著再生能源、珍視生態的美意。MAUD思瑞建築從「以人為本」、「與自然為伍」兩個原則切入，讓原本予人傳統印象的水泥廠，向外延伸，成了一個集合觀光、藝文、環保，甚至是遊憩住宿的生態新聚落。
「圓」在設計中擔任得不僅是搶眼的造型角色，也是打開邊界、讓空間與自然共存的工具，透過環狀外型導引風的流向，同時也增強了廠區內部的穩定性，加上可呼吸的外殼設計，藉著控制建築中的日光以及空氣對流，達到節能減碳的目標。
This project embodies three conceptual ideals: "Circle", symbolizing the harmonious cycle of life; "Unity", fostering a connection between residents and visitors; and "Spirit", signifying the renewal of energy while celebrating ecological beauty. MAUD meticulously adhered to two core principles - artifice and a harmony with nature - to infuse the cement plant project with an original yet traditional essence.
The project seamlessly integrates tourism, conservation, and art, creating a setting where recreational accommodations can seamlessly coexist. The "Round" principle permeates not only the project's design but also serves as a captivating focal point within the model. This principle defies boundaries, allowing space and nature to coalesce harmoniously.
By ingeniously guiding airflow through the circular structure, stability is enhanced while the structure becomes enveloped by gentle winds. Precise control of sunlight and wind convection contributes to the project's carbon reduction objectives, underscoring its commitment to sustainable practices.
MAUD firmly believed in integrating the basic industrial park with new multi-purpose architectural elements, showcasing their creativity through precise monitoring systems and structures for ecological restoration in the area. This integration allowed the factory to transition from its old-style framework. Virtuous Garden Full Circle became an inexhaustible source of energy, accommodating creativity, energy, crowds, industry, and nature.
